Erie Cathedral Prep senior Charles Rush was named Gatorade Pennsylvania High School Football Player of the Year. He will be inducted into the Gatorade Circle of Champions and is now a finalist for National Player of the Year Honors.

Rush, a 6-3, 280 pounder, is an integral blocker for the highest scoring team in the state. Defensively, Rush has 42 tackles, three sacks and one fumble recovery. Rush is a two-time all-state performer and three-year starter for the 13-0 Ramblers.

An Eagle Scout, Rush is involved in the Ambassador Program, an organization designed to recruit students to Cathedral Prep.
