King William rushes to Division 2 Championship

King William High School (12-2) claims takes home the A State Championship with a 25-15 victory over previously undefeated Honaker (13-1). King William used a single wing offensive attack to rush for an impressive 273 yards to 84 rushing yards for Honaker. Quarterback Leslie Washington led the way for King William rushing for 123 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Honaker Quarterback and University of Virginia bound Heath Miller passed for 143 yards and two touchdowns (8 of 24 and 1 interception). Defensively, Ricky Wilkerson was all over the field for King William, recording 7 unassisted tackles and forcing a key fumble. Two first half turnovers committed by Honaker was a huge turning point in the game. Miller also was outstanding on defense for Honaker recording 11 solo and 7 assisted tackles for a game high 18 tackles. Honaker running back Neil Sample had a good game rushing for 71 yards on 18 carries.
