The Hawks of Urbana High School in Frederick County again took home the Maryland Class 2A State title extending their winning streak to 38 games. Urbana defeated Gwynn Park of Prince Georges County 49-8. This is Urbanas' third consecutive state title. Stand out kicker and quarterback Josh Brown had a great game completing 14 of 21 passes for 144 yards (2 for TD's), kicking 2 field goals and nailing 5 of 5 PAT's. Brown was a refreshing look at how much a good kicking game in high school can mean to a team. He consistently booted the ball near the end zone putting Gwynn Park at a disadvantage and with the Hawks powerful defense he helped assure the win.
