QB Matt Kilpatrick (3) and RB Kenny Marckesano (22) made big plays for the Langley offense all night, the defense stuffed the Mount Vernon attack, and the Saxons advanced to the VHSL Division 5 Regional Championship game with a 27-0 win over Mount Vernon.

Kilpatrick scored the first Saxon touchdown on this 8 yard run in the 1st quarter. After a Saxon turnover the Majors had the ball on the Saxon 11. On third down Kevin Somers recovered a Major fumble to thwart the Majors only scoring chance of the night. This big run by Kilpatrick set up the Saxons next score. Kilpatrick faked the option, stepped back and threw a strike to Marckesano for the TD. With 2:45 left in the first half, Marckesano took a "Sally" play off left tackle, exploded through the line and 80 yards later had given his team a 21-0 lead going into the half.

In the second half the Saxons kept up the defensive intensity, Marckesano added a 5 yard touchdown run early in the 3rd quarter and the Saxons cruised in for the big win. They will face West Potomac on Friday for the Regional Title.
