Ashburn, VA - The Washington Redskins announced that Coach Keith King of
Potomac High School has been named this week's NFL Coach of the Week.
On Friday night, Potomac High School defeated the highly favored Hylton High
School 29-19. That ended Hylton's 39 game winning streak. Hylton has won
the past two Virginia Group AAA Division 6 State championships.
The Coach of the Week program aids in the development of youth football.
Each of the coaches chosen throughout the high school season will receive a
$500 donation from NFL Charities to the Coach of the Week's football
program, a framed certificate signed by Commissioner Tagliabue, Coach Turner
and Gene Washington NFL Director of Football Operations, and a Redskins hat
with "Coach of the Week" embroidered on the back.
The Redskins have teamed up with SportsCombine.com to select the Coach of
the Week. SportsCombine.com, a free service, is an Internet-based,
database-driven website that provides high school, youth and adult sports
information throughout the nation.
